1st Council Meeting! 1.3.23

I post updates of meetings shortly after in order to quickly update folks. Grammatical errors and less than Pulitzer Award winning blogs may occur. Please reach out if you’d like to know why I voted for or against an issue.

January 3rd was the first meeting of 2023. New council members Brandon Newman, Erin O’Dougherty (second term), Joe Shumway (new ward) and I were sworn in.

We also chose our mayor, Brian Harrington. Both he and Jayne Pearce were nominated, and I would have been completely pleased with either serving as mayor. Sharon Cumbie was elected a Vice Mayor.

Council approved a consent agenda which included MOU’s to work with and share resources with other municipalities if/when an emergency occurs. It also included approval of the new Spring Creek Village plat. The plat aligns with other uses in the area and will help addresss Laramie’s housing shortage.
