About Micah

Q: Why are you running for City Council?

A: Because I love Laramie, but I also realize it’s not perfect. I want to help think through our community’s challenges and do best for my neighbors. I encourage you to check out my solutions page to learn more.

Q: Who are you and what do you do when you’re not running for council?

A: I am the Director of Programs at the Wyoming Community Foundation. I get to learn about the work of nonprofits across the state and make grants to organizations who are making a difference in their communities.

I began my first term as a Ward 1 city council member in January, 2023.

When not running for council or at work, you might find me getting dirt on my hands in our jungle of a garden, hanging out with family and friends, or jogging.

Q: What do you love about Laramie?

A: Off the top of my head:

  • Friends and neighbors who love this community as much as I do

  • Summer alleyways full of hollyhocks and rhubarb

  • Downtown murals

  • View of the Snowies from West Laramie

  • Spotting a racoon crawling down a gutter

Q: Where are you from?

A: I was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. Early in their careers my mom and dad were both teachers. After a bit of time in Casper though, my dad shifted careers and began working for Marathon Oil.

I grew up at the top of Huber Hill, had a curfew of “be home when it’s dark,” and had a ton of fun running around with my older brother, Joe and my older sister, Gail.
